I'm not here to try and convince you to hire me, I mean it'd be great if you did but that's not what majority of professional organizers want. I've learned in my short amount of time organizing for others that it's not something you get into for the money. It's literally their calling, they want to help people. That's it.
I had absolutely no clue that this field, well, was a field! I thought everyone figured it out when they could, if they could and if they even wanted to. But I didn't take into consideration the psychological toll it can take on some people. Some people just absolutely cannot go through their belongings without reminiscing on past memories, or getting upset at the thought of parting ways with that old photo that is a duplicate and maybe not the best quality.
Hiring a professional organizer can help you acknowledge things you've been hiding from yourself, maybe you didn't want to go through the pictures of a recently deceased person or part with the things from a previous marriage. Or maybe something more positive like moving into a new place or joining two houses.
Here's a big one we don't really want to think about but we should, how about reducing our things so our loved ones don't have to do it upon our demise. Maybe you'd like the privacy of a professional organizer versus having your family come across things you would rather they didn't... Or maybe you'd rather acknowledge who gets what now so Tommy and Sally don't bicker over a silly decorative piece once you've passed.
Here's another reason to hire a professional organizer, you're busy! You've got your hands full with kids or/and running a business or maybe you just don't want to; so let someone else relieve you of that burden.
With an organizer you could work along side them or let them do whatever they need to do.
